First World War tour

Postby dumbarrowhill » Wed 12 Nov 2014 8:22 pm

Hi everyone. I'm planning a trip starting in The Netherlands, and drivng down through Belgium and Northern
France. Part of the plan is to see what Grandad got upto, but I'd like to see many other places of interest as well. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm intending to go April - ish next year. All suggestions gratefully received.

I'm also planning a similar trip, though I'm going to France then onto Belgium in May. The french part is SWMBO's part of the Journey, something about wanting to go to Paris! However, when we get to Belgium Ypres, Flanders and Dunkirk are definitely on the list.

I found this book quite good for the price. It a good starting point and there are good website setup for visiting the area as well.

Road trip Europe:the Great War and more from https://www.vicarious-shop.com/Road-Tri ... -More.html.

Hope this helps.
