Independent LR servicing in north Lancashire

Postby scortonphil » Fri 30 Jan 2009 12:36 pm

Hi

I live in Scorton which is situated between Preston & Lancaster off the A6 in Lancashire. Although it is a rural area I am not aware of any good, independent LR service centres in this neck of the woods and wondered if anybody had experience of any?

Thanks

Phil

Hi Phil,

I'm Over Wyre and know Scorton well. I often take the dog to the Picnic Site for a walk along the Wyre!!!

I don't have any experience of independant Land Rover Specialists, but I do know of one down at Leyland.

http://www.kmotors.co.uk/

There prices sound okay and the Website looks like they are a professional bunch, but I can't vouch for them.

There is also
http://www.thelandrovercentre.co.uk/

Again, no experience of them. Sorry.

I do most of my own stuff, but have used a local garage who were quite good and a Diesel specialist in Longridge.

Not sure if this has helped at all, but let me know if you need any other info.

Cheers

Hiya,

I'm a bit north of you. I've used the landrovercentre that Changill mentioned - the guy who owns it is a friend of mine (Martin). He's a good honest worker with a VAST knowledge of landrovers. I bought my first Landy from him, prices are ok. BUT like any garage, get a price before you commit as work on Land Rovers can sometimes be a bottomless pit!!!!!
Driveways and Patios laid in a flash
No guarantees and payment in cash
Clothes Pegs, Charms and Bangles for your arms
But he's always on strike, he's the raving Posh Pike

K are OK but they are not the cheapest. You can get much cheaper believe me! Just shop around a bit. If you dont mind paying then they are not bad. Try 'Landrover Specialist of Preston Ltd' in the middle of Preston, 01772 555634 as well for a comparison.

Thanks everybody for the information, very helpful.

I had heard there was a guy who was supposed to be good and ex James Edwards LR at Brock - I think he was supposed to be somewhere on the A6, maybe behind Rogers of Brock garage - I have not been able to track him down but wondered if that rang any bells?

Not exactly your neck of the woods, but I can highly recommend Worldwide LR, 77 Sandon Rd, Southport, PR8 4QD Tel No. 01704 894111
They used to be in Burscough, but moved late last year.
It's owned by two brothers, both helpful & friendly.
They do parts & accessories, servicing & repair.
