sloppy gear selection td5

can anyone tell me if anything can be done to firm up the spring pressure on the gearstick of my td5 . when in neutral centered it should have a small gate to left and right before gear selection , forward or back , any advice greatly aprieciated

swap the springs, its not a difficult job

but you will need a drill 5mm drill bit and some pop rivets

Fitted rivit nuts to mine last time alot better

i have got ot take my cover off again this will be the 3rd time i have got some 5mm machine screws and am going to tack weld the nuts to the bottom of the plate i bet after doing this i never take it off again rivet nuts a good idea if i had got them then i would do that may look in to getting some

mines held down with large self tapping screws

I used self tappers on mine, but I noticed that they are sticking out above the gear box like mini daggers. I'll have to watch out for this if (when :( ) I have to take the gearbox out.
